Whats Your Biggest Frustration About Building an Online Business??

Atrscting serious traffic I would have to say is my biggest concern

Biggest problem at the moment is lack of income as I am unemployed.
This means I have nothing to invest to help me make an income

I FEEL CHEATED…

That’s my biggest frustration.

I may buy a product to help me do the work required, but it doesnt end there.

You press the order button and you think you have everything you need to get something moving and then marketer will try and squeeze some more out of you. OTO BUMPS, SALES FUNNELS ETC ETC.

They tell you in the psychology of selling that once people have their credit card out, once they have made an order, then they are more than happy to part with more hard earned cash. WILLING to give you more money.

Well it simply pisses me off.

I thought you marketers were selling me an entire product to help with my business, but now I learn that you have only sold the first part and you now expect me to stump up more cash for the rest of the information.

So my eager anticipation has been shot to bits by the knowledge the product I just bought is incomplete and was just a clever attempt to extract more money from me.

Its just one big MLM scam, where those feverish for cash will do anything to make a quick buck.

That’s how I feel today Dan. That’s my biggest frustration with starting a business online.

Thanks Dean, i was also about to reply to Daves comment, but i think you said it all, however a few things to add myself..

Well, every business uses OTO sales funnels etc etc…

You go to Mac donalds and they always ask you if you want fries with what you get, thats an upsell.

But thats the way you sell Dave, you offer a front end product, to gain a customers interest, then you offer more of what they would be interested in, by offering more value.

Its nothing new, major companies all use these marketing strategies all the time.

You see those TV ads that offer a product for peanuts, and they give you an amazing bonus and offer,… they will often lose out on the front end…

But they know they can make up it up on the back end, its the lifetime value of the customer.

Its no different with online businesses.

I understand how you must feel though, when your struggling to make money with an online business it can be very frustrating, i know this first hand.

Next time your buying a product online, i would look at how there selling and learn from it.

And use it in your own business, if you have one?

Sorry lads. I didnt want to bring the tone of your blog down Dan… I’m going through a bit of a ruff patch at the min and was venting my frustrations in the wrong place. I’d be happier if you removed the offending comments….peace

There are challenges to making money online, but I love them. I am making money so I guess my biggest challenge now is how to make MORE money so I can finally quit my job and go full time. There are frustrations like getting a site ranked on page one of google for a while, then it just disappears, along with the income. I have one back now for a profitable search term but don’t know how long it will stay (lots of hungry competition)

Another challenge is sustaining a profitable adwords campaign. I about beat my head up against the wall on that one to the extent that i now prefer SEO and article marketing.

But overall I like my prospects because I have gained a lot of experience, am making some decent extra money that has helped out big time with daily expenses, and look forward to new projects I am about to start.

With respect to Dave’s comment, I can understand where he is coming from. There are SO many product launches and they virtually ALL promise that they will be the Messiah that everybody is looking for.

What happens is that people buy one after the other and really give none of them a proper shot because there is ALWAYS that NEXT thing coming at you. Everybody wants to stay at the forefront of what is going on so many of us are on a LOT of lists.

When there is a big launch of some product coming out we all get about 20 emails telling us (ie the pre-launch), then another 20 or more when it IS launched and then oodles and oodles more saying “run with MY affiliate link coz I have the best super-duper bonuses.” People are constantly INUNDATED and then confusion sets in. There is never enough time to investigate or try everything. And when we are confused that is when frustration comes in and then that turns to inactivity because you don’t know what to do first. Then we get even MORE frustrated.

My issue is with these “bonuses.” They are the distractors. Why would you want to pay $997 for something that has 5, 6, 7, 10 or even 20 bonuses (allegedly valued at $2997 themselves!)? Especially when so many of the so-called “bonuses” are just well, let’s face it… shite. I simply don’t have time even to LOOK at such bonuses and all they do is clutter up my computer and distract me.

Time is the biggest issue. Wasting time is the greatest sin there is. THAT is when I get frustrated because I value my time above all else.

So, Dave, I hear your frustration. I’ve been there. You just have to sort out the chaff from the hay and pick and choose what you want. If you don’t want OTO’s or 2TO’s (two time offers) or 3TO’s then ignore them.

Michel Fortin went on a real rant about the ethics of presenting OTO’s at point of sale (ie during your credit card processing of the order) a few weeks ago. It was a very interesting read. He quite often talks about the ethics of marketing or, more appropriately, the UNethics of marketing. I often read his blog and sometimes add a comment of my own.

Don’t bother going to website hav’nt set it up, Yet. Why? Well in todays economy you’ll what something peeps really need. Kinda like the college drop-out with the million $ idea, WORM POOP. Think about it. Peeps r hearing about how they’re killing the Planet, and the price of doing so is Going Up. So, if thier conscience don’t get them the cost will. I buy products and information, that futher my desire to cut the impact of my existence. It’s not that hard, if your willing to look at the big (REAL) boggyman thats bitting this nation & the world in the arse. It’s not about alot of $ either, It’s about teaching peeps how not to starve. Think locally,what can u teach? What do you know? Barter,give examples,give well made recycled products that don’t posion,maim or kill.Everything is interconnected even businesses. You wanna make $?. Sell me something I can feel good about buying, something that will work (cause if it don’t,word of mouth, ya know?) And get me a “included list”.So I know what to expect. Peeps don’t, won’t buy frivoulous items these days, who can afford too? So get real, it’s a scarey new world try and make it better! I dare u.

Yes My Biggest Frustration is very similar to Dave’s as well.

I pay a lot of money for program after program and see no results. I have spent about $400 on products, I have already spent about a month and a half of my time trying to make things work. Still at the moment, I have yet to see a cent. I guess I’m working on everything right now, increasing my conversion rate, increasing my traffic, finding a good niche.

And like Dave I will apologize for bringing down the tone xP

It would have to be the constant offers and ‘this is the only way to do it philosophy’

Everyone has their own way of being successful. Some have their own ways of generating traffic and creating products and creating lists and some do it another way.

Not one way is right, so it shouldnt be right to preach it.
