Hi Dan,
Yes it was a very helpful session.
I left after about 3 hours because I know Alex was getting tired and hungry. He’s learning along with us and I think sticking to a pre-set amount of time would be good.
Most people get their questions answered by the few who do get through and maybe posting a FAQ would be helpful. What do you think?
Thanks again for the book,
Theresa
December 11th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
Hi Theresa,
Yes, i think a FAQ would probably be a good idea. I know how daunting it can be for alot of people who are really new to it.
I really really excited about Alex getting Rich Schefren in on a call. Rich really really knows alot about business, hes one of my fave business gurus for sure.
Have you read much of Rich’s books?
Dan
December 11th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
Hey Dan, I also agree with you.
I learn ed a lot, but the part that really stuck with me is the one where Alex wrote that little email on the screen and how to tie it down with a story.
So simple, it’s almost unbelievable…
The next couple of weeks should be really interesting, with guest speakers, learning traffic and hopefully a video of Alex’s trip.
I can’t wait!
Warm regards,
Rov

Hi Dan
I think I saw your site on the show. Just here to kick around a little bit and check it out. I think that Alex will have to set up some rules for the brainstorming sessions. Four hours is just way to long for him and most of us. Don’t want to burn the poor guy out.

Hi Dan,
I was on the call tonight…and I know it ran longer than he intended for it to, but geez…ya gotta give the guy credit, huh? I mean to stay online until every single person had asked what they wanted to ask…all I can say is…poor Katie! LOL!
Seriously though, I think Alex genuinely cares about his students and I’m thrilled to be one!
I’m looking forward to this journey…I think it may be life changing!

Hello guys
i agree, alex is seriously going for it. I think because it’s his first time trying to coach he’s basically wanting to come out with full marks. If he does a good job with us, then it will benefit it him greatly. As he’s going to gain a really good rep within the industry. Fair play though, hes got serious drive. I look up to the guy, i plan of being there sometime.
Its hard at first. But you just got to stick with it. I dont mean seriously hard but you must be persistent. Dont let a few pitfalls get in your way if something goes wrong. Keep going.
You know in his guru dream book, that said it all to me. It just clicked. People are chasing that gurus dream, how right is that. people want instant success and if they try something and they something doesnt go right, they dont persist, they give up and try something else. Its all about the business behind it.
Thats why, if you are not really business minded your most likely going to fail. Think long term, and not short term.
But serious though, the lessons do go on for a long time. For me personally it is not a problem, but i have a high drive, and i just love to learn about business and applying what i learn.
The only problem is that there are loads of people who have to work so it might be unfair for them.
At least the sessions are recorded so anybody can go back and watch or listen to them when they want.
Mabye people should address there issues to alex and he can work around something…

Hi Dan
Alex is giving us 200% more than I expected when we started. To reduce the time taken for the Q & A session after the training and also the Brainstorming sessions we should agree that those who did not get questions answered on the last session should be the first ones to get through on the current session. You get some of the same people coming through each time including myself. On last night’s session I noticed that there were very few female contributors.
I have added you to my blogroll at http://www.richardmoloneyblog.com

Yes, brainstorming was good except I still can’t work out how to actually speak. Alex called my name several times but each time I was told I was muted so he couldn’t hear me.
Anyway, just introducing myself as a fellow student. Was late getting started and am still trying to catch up.
I will add you to my blog roll (when I work out how to do it!)
If you want to check me out at http://www.jeansmenopausalmoment.com/blog and offer any advice or leave a comment it would be nice to hear from you.
Good luck with your blog and best wishes.

I have just changed my blog theme for a three column one with widgets and have been working at editing and fine tuning. At last after 4 days

Hello, Dan!
Didn’t get to the brainstorming session, since my satellite Internet connection has been temperamental. So I’m making the rounds of those students who did and picking up tips. Thanks for being there and passing along what you learn! Great job on getting all your ducks in a row – you’re an inspiration to those of us still rounding the little suckers up.
Anyway, you’re on my blogroll – hope you’ll consider adding me to yours!
Cheers,

Hey Dan…heard you on the call and noted down your details to visit your website. Looks pretty good, nice and fresh..took up your offer on the ebook, look forward to reading it.
The brainstorming session was great, learnt a lot from listening to what others have been doing and having problems with, they asked pretty much all the questions on what I was having problems with.
By the way one question from my side where did you get the social networking icons on the bottom of the posts, so I can put on my site as well..
Go over and have a look at my site as well at:

Hi,my name is Paul Hamilton and I am also one of Alex’s students. I just thought I would say Hi. I have been so busy trying to catch up with everything that Alex is teaching us, I haven’t had time for anything else. Isn’t Alex fantastic ? I just cannot believe how much I am learning. I love your blog. Would you please add my site to your blogroll. Thanks Paul
December 13th, 2008 at 10:49 am
Many thanks for all of your comments.
Yes Alex is a really good mentor. I am really please i went through with his coaching. It just helps to get a person thats been down the road before and see things from there angle.
Everytime i think about doing something now, im like ‘how would alex do this’ or how would so and so ‘do this’ just looking from the perspectives of other marketers.
I find it helps alot.

Hi,
I was at the brainstorming session which was great. I agree with the poster who suggested a FAQ page on the site, so that someone on his team could post up things that come up again and again. Very good idea.
Best wishes,

Hi Dan,
I just finished the 1st draft of my first ebook and
I wondered if you could help me?
I get many questions a day on my blog and by email about
blog related topics. So the book I am putting together
answers most of these, but I would like to know if you
can think of anything else that could be included. Even
better would be any questions you want answered.
The ebook covers WordPress settings, changing the header,
widgets, plugings, adding aweber, adsense, adverts and more.
I have just posted on my blog so if you can think of anything else
I should cover, please leave a comment.
Thanks!
Mark

Hi Dan
another Alex student. The guy is superb ain’t he? He is delivering way beyond my expectations and is doing what a mentor should be doing…anyway, somehow I didn’t see the post about a brainstorm session and missed it!!
I saw a comment above about Alex writing a little email on the screen and tying it to a story. Can you or one of the commenters share that one with me please? I’m annoyed at having missed the call….
I’m still working out how the typepad features work but when I do, I’ll add you into the blogroll…

Hi Dan, well I just about echo your comments. It is amazing what you can learn with q&A sessions like that as many feel silly asking a simple question but then benefit when someone who is less self conscious asks the question or a similar one covering the topic.
A favour please Dan. It has been brought to my notice that I have committed a cardinal sin without even knowing that I had done so. My original comment to young Mr Parkes must have started this off as it was made pre W.P blog and in the box you complete with the comment for the URL I used my main site, thought nothing of it.
This has caused a lot us angst within the group I understand as it has been seen as a deliberate attempt to market in a clandestine fashion. This is far from the case you need to be more advanced than I to use underhanded marketing practices for sure.
Hope you have not been offended by my ineptitude.

he did a fab job for me.
i look forward to reading you ebook about traffic. that is one of the big problems, i did a post about who doing what about traffic and it seemed to be a big problem, everyone is waiting for alex to do the traffic module. so thank you for your book.

Hi Dan,
Yes, I was on the brainstorming call and I agree with all of the comments, it was too long and I’m sure Alex will learn as we go along that he needs to have a plan for the call like he does with the coaching calls and stick to a time schedule. I always learn from his calls and appreciate his determination to make sure all of us students become successful! He’s definitely giving us our moneys worth for this program.
If I hadn’t been on the call, I wouldn’t have seen your blog and had the opportunity to get your free ebook. Thanks again for that, I like how clean your blog is and how neat it is. I want mine to be that way too.
Take care,
